Math is an essential part of sheet metal fabrication. Math skills are needed to take accurate measurements of finished parts, verify angles and dimensions, locate features, calculate the amount of material needed to complete a project, and many other tasks. This course offers a review of basic geometry, algebra, and trigonometry skills.
Math Calculations explores order of operations; fractions; perimeter, area, and right angle trigonometry problems. Each module is delivered using a combination of audio instruction, diagrams, photographs, flash videos, simulations, case studies, interactive games, and review questions to address a variety of learning styles.

About the instructor
Steve Benson has more than 30 years experience in the sheet metal industry. He is president of ASMA, a supplier of software, textbooks, and training for press brake operators and engineers. He has authored seven press brake texts, programmed related software, and currently publishes the Precision Sheet Metal Chronicle. Steve is an active member of FMA's Precision Sheet Metal Technology Council.
